Modern art makes me want to rock out

Space Rock...The Final Frontier

Buckle up, this is gonna be a roller coaster of rambling…

I’ve been spending maaaany many many hours working on my Plex server over the last year. Dumping all streaming services with the lone exception being Youtube (I just can’t with all the ads) and going self hosted has been quite a journey.

The biggest hurdle in all of this was moving from Spotify to Plexamp. I’ve collected a lot of music in my days and crossed over 1000 albums a few weeks ago. While cleaning up the naming schemes for some of the albums/tracks/etc I came across a track I forgot that I purchased ages ago:

djcutman.bandcamp.com/album/tre… (DJ Cutman - Trekkin')

I’ve been a long time fan of Star Trek and figured I’d slap the name into Bandcamp’s search engine and see what was out there to expand my “Trek tunes” collection. The first thing that came up and immediately grabbed my eye was this album by The Beverly Crushers:

thebeverlycrushers.bandcamp.com/album/ent… (The Beverly Crushers - Enterprise)

If not for the artwork alone I immediately purchased unheard and uploaded to the server and began jamming out to it. The band mixes a lot of 70’s and 90’s rock sounds with some funk, some jazz, hell even a rap track on another release and it just clicked with me immediately. I played some of it for my wife and I believe if I pulled a log file of how many times she’s listened through it, it’d easily eclipse even some of my most played albums/tracks.

While I doubt anyone is reading these posts, I’d really appreciate it if you’d check them out, maybe pick it up for a few bucks if it’s something you like and uhhh yeah…Thanks!
